Waking from my mid-summer slumber.
Had work to do; ticks to flick;
Ceremonies to attend; and days to number.
Must still make the vow, lyrics beyond the classic.
All is fair and well, not fairwell.
Stay tuned, irregular broadcasts will resume.
There is much that we still don't like
(and some we like, while others drive cadillacs).

Lost and delayed
As many of my sporadic readers may recall, I have a beef with the way Air Canada and Westjet treat Saskatchewan, and in particular Regina. My complaints have included: the exorbitant rates during peak travel season (nearly a thousand dollars to fly at Christmas), the fact that it is the same price to fly an extra two hours to Vancouver and cheaper to fly to England (despite extra security fees), that the only direct flights to / from Toronto and Ottawa happen to be at six a.m., and it is now impossible not to get a flight that does not go through Calgary or Edmonton - an hour in the opposite direction.
With the Premiers being in Regina, the indefatigable Julie Van Dusen has noted over at Political Bytes, that the Premiers have suffered from a poor travelling experience - both flight delays and lost luggage. That is the great thing about this country - no matter what your status in society is, you still get the same crappy treatment!
On a positive note, I would like to report that a few weeks back my luggage returned to Regina at the same time as I did (likely on the same flight as well). Considering that, more often than not, I leave the Regina International Airport (really does not take much to call yourself "international" these days...) without my luggage, I took this is as a sign of improvement. Perhaps it was just my luck that was improving.
