Bev Oda has to go

Bev Oda has to go.

It is obvious, is it not?

The picture says it all.

The somber attire. The dark sun glasses shielding her eyes from the grey Ottawa sky. Her hair combed down to cover as much of her face as possible. Either she is attempting to emulate the invisibility of a ninja, or the fearsomeness of a mobster.

Most importantly - she is a smoker. Clearly she is pure evil, and this is why she is evil:
  1. She has no respect for the environment - which actually promotes her credibility in Conservative circles.
  2. She has no care about second hand smoke causing cancer in others - although, in keeping with her Conservative "ideals", health, along with everything else that is not related to Canada's best interest, should be downloaded to the province.
  3. She has no concerns about others - but Conservatives, philosophically, are all about the individual. By individual, we means, oneself - because let's face it - the most important individualistic characteristic is self-interest.
Okay... so Bev Oda is basically a shiny example of Canadian Conservatism and will likely get promoted to Minister of Environment.

Of course, there is many examples from her days as Minisiter of Heritage to her current dismal record as Minister of International Development of why she should be given the golden boot. Some of the more prominent examples include, her $5000 limo ride to the Junos in Halifax, attempting to hold a fundraiser with broadcasters executives just prior to a broadcasting review, to the most recent KAIROs memo fib. And these are just examples that are in the media - Oda has done plenty to ensure that CIDA's global credibility is tarnished.

Stephen Harper has a tendency to show loyalty to Cabinet Ministers and then quietly shuffle them down at the first opportunity. Can you say Bev Oda, Minister of Status of Women? But this begs the question - how bad did Helena Guergis screw up to be kicked out of Cabinet and caucus?

If lying at Committee and blaming senior bureaucrats for her disregard of departmental procedures and policies is not enough to can a Minister, what is?
